Sandra

Pilates Instructor

Sandra found Pilates the way many attorneys find their best arguments — through a series of unexpected turns that somehow lead exactly where they were supposed to go. It started with yoga during LSAT prep, moved through a studio that added Pilates-inspired classes, and arrived at its proper destination when Lucy introduced her to Sara and to a classical practice grounded in modern biomechanics. The rest, as she puts it, was history.

She certified in mat with Sara and went straight into reformer training because once the classical method gets hold of you there is really no going back, according to Sandra. She has since been quietly inspiring a growing love for the other Pilates apparatuses — which anyone who knows Sandra will tell you was entirely predictable. Sandra has been teaching at SOP since 2026.

By day Sandra is a licensed practicing domestic relations attorney working with clients navigating divorce, child custody, and the deeply personal terrain that comes with it. That work requires extraordinary patience, mastery in communication, and the ability to meet people exactly where they are — which turns out to be an exceptional foundation for teaching Pilates. She brings the same clarity of cues, the same attentiveness, and the same commitment to making people feel safe and seen to every class and private session she teaches. She wants everyone who walks through the door to feel comfortable showing up as their full and authentic selves. In her experience that is when the real work — and the real transformation — begins.

What Sandra preaches most about Pilates is what it does beyond the studio. Her own proprioception, alignment, posture, and strength have all shifted since she found the practice — and she notices it everywhere. In her lifting, her running, her yoga, and even the way she sits at her desk on a long workday. She is particularly passionate about what Pilates offers bodies navigating restrictions or the natural changes that come with aging — a low-impact practice with an extraordinarily high ceiling.

Outside the studio Sandra is a committed lifelong learner, a lover of house music, art, and fashion, and a reliable source of clever jokes. Her household currently consists of her and Oliver — a fluffy Persian cat with a grumpy but sweet face whose photos she will absolutely share with you whether you asked or not. Consider yourself warned and delighted.
