Jill

Pilates Instructor

Jill came to Pilates the way many great things begin — not as a destination, but as a detour. After years of dedicated yoga practice she was looking for something to balance what the mat was giving her. What she found on the Pilates reformer surprised her: a practice that demanded the same presence and intention as yoga but challenged her body in entirely new ways.

She completed her mat certification with Sara and jumped straight into reformer training and is certified in both mat and reformer — she has been teaching at SOP since 2025.

Jill's movement background runs deep. She has been teaching yoga since 2010 with hundreds of hours of continuing education including Barkan Level 2 and 3 training, meditation, and thousands of hours of real-world teaching that add up to the kind of knowledge that can't be measured by a credential alone. She is the instructor who has genuinely lived this work — on and off the mat — for a very long time.

Outside the studio Jill is happiest outdoors — hiking, swimming, walking with her dog and cat, gardening, and dancing with absolutely no apologies. She grew up in Ohio but has lived in London, Wyoming, and Colorado and spent her twenties traveling the West. She has kids and grandkids and counts handstands, card games, and being together among her greatest joys. She worked in corporate life before her teaching journey began — which means she fully understands the kind of tension that Pilates and yoga exist to undo.

You are likely to hear at least one Grateful Dead song in Jill's class. Consider yourself warned — and welcomed.

And one more thing worth knowing: Jill is Lucy's aunt.
