Amanda

Pilates Instructor

By day, Amanda is a licensed Occupational Therapist with twenty years of experience helping people adapt, relearn skills, build confidence, and find greater independence in their everyday lives. That background gives her a perspective in the Pilates studio that is genuinely rare — she is always thinking about movement, the body, and what it means to help someone feel stronger and more capable. She also holds a 500-hour yoga certification and teaches yoga weekly, which means her understanding of the mind-body connection runs as deep as her understanding of the body itself.

Amanda's path to Pilates started with a genuine connection. Many moons ago she and Sara were colleagues — Amanda teaching yoga, Sara teaching Barre at the same fitness studio — and somewhere along the way a real friendship formed. During this time, Sara was also teaching Pilates at another location and Amanda decided to give it a try. What happened next was inevitable. The physical challenge of Pilates pulled Amanda in. The mental challenge kept her there. Seven years ago she became certified in mat and reformer through Sara and never looked back.

That origin story matters because it is woven into everything Amanda brings to her teaching. She didn't come to Pilates looking for a career change. She came because something about it wouldn't let her go. The way it asks you to slow down. The way it reveals strength in movements that look deceptively simple. The way it changes not just how your body moves but how you understand what your body is capable of. She believes Pilates can be healing, empowering, and genuinely humbling for anyone — regardless of where they are in their fitness journey — and she means every word of it.

Outside the studio Amanda is a reader, a cook, a scuba diver, and a devoted soccer sideline parent to her kids Chloe and Cooper. She is married to Tim and their household also includes three mini pugs who are always ready for a walk or a good snuggle and keep everyone thoroughly entertained. Life is busy and full and she wouldn't have it any other way.
